Hey folks,

I'm pretty sure its something I've done or rather something I haven't done, but I'm not sure which!?

It's a clean install of TV Rename v2.2.0b7 on WinSvr2K8-R2. After install, I fire it up, I go Tools --> Folder Monitor --> Add my directories --> Click check --> Click Auto ID All --> then after 5 to 10 seconds I got this error message:

============================================
Error processing data from TheTVDB for a show.
Name: COIN-OP TV
Language: "en"
'Element' is an invalid XmlNodeType.
============================================

Then after clicking OK, I get the below:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

If I click on 'Continue' on the Unhandled exception error box, nothing happens. I can still do stuff in TV Rename, but none of my shows are recognised. If I click quit, well, its all-over-red-over!

Any ideas?? Is this new?? Is it just me??

Thanks for any and all help,
Dodgy Bob

Hey Bob,

I have the same problem, first time i've used this software - however:

I believe it may have something to do with some change on thetvdb.com site as another application I use that uses this site is also suddenly having problems and has been working fine for months before now.

Can anyone confirm this?

Cheers,
PIro

I did have a similar problem once with the last beta. Instead of adding everything at once I added a couple of shows at a time until the program crashed. I can't remember what show it was but every time I tried to add it the program crashed, might be the same with Coin-op.

So its looking like its going to be a matter of just adding shows manually and only 1 or a small handful at a time then?

Oh well, if this is the only thing that is broken with it, then thats ok, I can live with that!!

Has anyone else had any other issues of recent?

I'll try things again tonight and see how that goes.

Regards,
Dodgy Bob

The issue is with "malformed data" in the xml files downloaded from TheTVDB. TVRename should be more graceful in it's handling of it but basically if you fix the data on TheTVDB then the issue goes away. Usually it is inverted commas or quote marks in the episode title or description.
Just had a look at "COIN-OP TV" on TheTVDB and it has two seasons and NO episodes. This is probably causing the issue. Add an episode into each season (there must be at least one?) and see if it works.
