I was struggling for a while with why some of my Daily Show episodes were not being recognized by TVRename, but eventually I realized that the four shows for the week of 8/8/2011 are not in the episode list. I thought maybe they never actually aired, but upon checking the Daily Show website, they did.
Further, they are on the page at TVDB.com. For some reason they just aren't being recognized by TVRename.

Series numbering can vary depending on country or if source was a from plastic platter. tvrage and thetvdb rename also have differences in series numbering. I used to prefer tv rage but it is not supported by many programs and with their new layout it is not as pleasing to use.
(Why do web sites thing flash makes there site better.
when you are looking for anything they are very troublesome.)
For you sanity just use 1 rename program that works from 1 database. I have seen some that use 2 or more but you can end up with lots of problems also. I am not sure how close thetvdb and imdb are but i see more programs using them together and it wories me.
If you find a show not listed on thetvdb there is a way to add them.
