Season 'Collapsing'

Just an idea, if in the shows and folders we would be able to have a bit more organisation by being able to 'Collapse' a show to one entry So like NOW it is:

South Park (S1)
South Park (S2)
South Park (S3)
.... 1,2 Skip a few.
South Park (S12)

How about being able to maybe collapse it so we just see

South Park

But if we Expand we can see

South Park
Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
Season 4
etc.

I just think with a couple of tv shows at 5 + seasons your getting a fairly big scrolly list. I udnerstand i have probably missed something in the way of how the program works that requires it to be that way but i just think it would make it a little bit nicer. Opening view you just have the TV shows you have, you then can expand on your seasons.

Its definitely possible within the way the data is structured internally. I'll have a think about it - there's a couple of ways it could be done, and I don't think it'd be too hard to do.

Hey sstteevvee,

Wondering if any more thought into this feature? Im still very interested in it :)

Another thought was the shows view filtering, like being able to filter out 'old' seasons etc, cos as soon as a season is over i mark it as old so the only 'current' seasons are not-old. (All filters optional of course).

Another thought (yes i know, probably should be making other threads for it) is a 'watched' list as part of 'when next to watch'. So like you have to 'tick off' shows that you have/havent watched :) Similar to a feature over at http://www.channelbt.com/. Basically you need to mark off what you have and havent watched as it shows are released...Lets you know if you have actually watched a show released this week or something.

Missing tab can act kind of like this, but unfortunately if your like me and are actually missing a fair few from older episodes (im working on it) then they all get mixed up. Filtering option could come into play here too.

*Stops ranting on...*

Yeah.. I'm in the middle of a bit reshuffle due to moving over to thetvdb.com (since tv.com is busted for now), and am considering whether or not to re-do the shows&folders thing at the same time. I'm thinking a tree-like structure with collapsing, etc. Also, automatic addition of new seasons when they start, and simplifying the whole thing to have one folder per season (though the same folder can be used in more than one season if you have a 'flat' structure.)

If I did all that, I think it'd take care of quite a few feature requests from 2 or 3 people all at once.

I'll have a think about how to make it so you can tick off shows you've watch in the when-to-watch list. It could then display "stuff I haven't watched yet", rather than "the last week or so". Shouldn't be too hard. :)

Amazing - I just came to the forums to suggest this could be a tree structure & a couple of other people are thinking exactly the same thing at the same time.
