Changing Search Engine

Hi,

I'd like to say, awesome program so far, just started using it late last week.

The feature I'd like to see is the ability to add a "search engine" to the "Missing" tab. The reason fro this is I do the majority of my downloading via Newsgroups as opposed to BT, I would prefer to check the Newsgroup sites prior to downloading via BT, this would remove the manual searching before I take a look at the BT sites.

Thanks for all your great work on this program - I have always wanted something like this for TV Season.

Thanks for the positive feedback :)_

Having an editable list of search sites is on my todo list. In the meantime, if you give me example search URL(s) I can put them into the list, so they'll be there in the next version.

As requested,

The first one is Newzleecher.com, example search string for Prison Break is: http://www.newzleech.com/usenet/?group= ... senet&adv=

The second is from Nzbs.org, again searching for Prison Break: http://nzbs.org/index.php?action=search&q=prison+break

Thanks again for your hard work.

Any chance of adding another search engine to the list please?

http://members.easynews.com/global4/search.html?gps={series}+{season}+{episode}+unrar&s1=dtime&s1d=-
ex:
http://members.easynews.com/global4/sea ... time&s1d=-

This would search for Dexter season 3 episode 4 in unrar format, sorted by datetime in desc order.

Thanks again.

The latest version lets you define your own search engines!

You can add easynews by putting in something like:

http://members.easynews.com/global4/search.html?gps=!+unrar&s1=dtime&s1d=-
The "!" is replaced with the show name, season, and episode number.

Any chance of being able to edit specifically how the series name, season, and episode number gets passed in the url?

I would like to be able to do something like http://www.domain.com/search/search.asp?q=(ShowName)+s+(Season2)+e(Episode2)

Just a thought to make it more along the lines of the filename template editor. I seem to get a lot of useless results when using just the Name+Season+Episode that is placed in by the ! parameter.

Thanks again

I was wondering if someone would eventually ask for that. :) I'll put it on my to-do list.

:)

Its just moved up my priority list a bit more, as mininova now seems to no longer do sub-string searching. i.e., the way I do searches on mininova no longer works.

I'm slightly less busy at work now, so I might have some time and inclination to look at it this weekend (along with a few other things I said I'd look into).

...something like http://www.domain.com/search/search.asp?q=(ShowName)+s+(Season2)+e(Episode2)

Done in the latest version. Look in Options->Search Engines, then hit the "Tags..." button for hints on what you can use. They're the same as for the file naming templates.

I'm trying to search on kat.ph

https://kat.ph/search/{ShowName}%20s{Season:2}e{Episode2}

but every time I search it asks me about scripts four times.
why? and how do you fix it?

and when a shows name, like Grey's Anatomy has a ' in the name kat.ph doesnt use it.
instead kat.ph requires "Greys Anatomy s08e01" instead of "Grey's Anatomy s08e19".
- is it possible to add a feature to remove any special characters?
