Ignore Show feature request

When I have a complete show that's not going to have anymore episodes (M*A*S*H, Buffy, etc) I would like the initial download to no longer grab info from TheTVDB.com. Could we have an "Ignore Show" function that stops grabbing updates from TheTVDB.com? This way, the initial download could be a little faster. Perhaps "Ignore Show" isn't a good name, perhaps something like "Don't check for updates for this show" checkbox.

Essentially, I tend to use TVRename for a simple move/rename function for new shows, and I hardly ever use the My Shows tab.

I understand why you would want this, but it does open up some other potential problems. What happens if the data set at theDVdb is found to be inaccurate and someone changes it? Then your dataset wouldn't ever have the corrected info.

I wonder if theTVdb website provides some sort of feedback for a season or show that's has changes "locked out". They do that when a show is done, or when it's too much in flux due to naming inconsistencies or such. And you don't want your own list of names to keep changing/updating.

Maybe TVr could check to see if changes are allowed, and if not, then the previous downloaded information would be presumed unchanged, and TVr would not update it, and thus saving download time.

Ok, so once a show has been renamed/moved and is over, and you don't care about updates anymore, why not just remove it from the shows tab? No more trying to update it, no more downloads, and if for some reason somebody decides to rename the episodes (as happened recently with Hawaii Five-0 when they added English translations of the titles, which annoyed me), your files will remain untouched. It seems like the perfect solution if you don't use the shows tab and don't want to receive any more updates.

You could also set TVRename to ignore all seasons for the show.

So for Mash you'd select it in your My Shows list and in the Ignore Seasons box enter: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11

I do that for all my shows once they've been correctly named and have a correct nfo file to prevent people who screw up the TVDB data at some future point from screwing up mine. They're still in show list however so if at some point I do have a need to refresh them, all my paths and rules are still there and I just have to unignore the seasons.
