This is not a bug or anything so I thought I would stick it in here!

Anyway, the RSS feature for TVrename, I have it working (it exports a file) but how do I get Rss programs like Internet explorer and the like to see and load it as a feed?

Any pointers would be good.

Cheers
Mike

Yeeess.. I have mine going to a fileshare on a webserver, since I'm a nerd and have a webserver at home. I then point my rss reader at the webserver.

I've just had a quick go at getting IE to pick up a file as a rss feed (e.g. file:///c:/temp/tvrename.rss), but it seems to dislike it not being from "http://". How well other RSS readers work will depend on how fussy they are. Thunderbird's RSS reader doesn't seem to like it either.

yes they all seem to be a bit fussy! I've got an rss reader in vista media center which takes it's feeds from IE so would like to get this working. I sham keep looking in to it to see if I can add it directly to this vmc reader.

Worst case, you could install a lightweight http server on your machine, and limit access to it from the local machine only. Though, that's almost taking a sledgehammer approach.

I just remembered.. I was working on putting a RSS server directly into TVRename, bypassing the need for saving to a file. You'd definitely be able to point IE at it, as it would be a "http://" link.

Since people other than me are interested in RSS (I know someone other than you was as well), I'll bump it up my priority list. I had it mostly working, but there were a couple of annoying bugs to fix. I'm now older and wiser than I was.. um.. 6 months ago... so may not be too much hassle to sort out.

Cool, that would be great if IE and anything else will pick it up, it then means I can browse this feed in media center to see whats on when.

Hi,
this thread is now about a year old, but i still dont see any way to actually use the exported RSS file....
Any planned improvements here?
