Doesn't RENAME work on .M4V files?

I've been playing around with the program since last night. But I still can't figure out how to rename my files? The USER GUIDE (based on version 2.0 it says) has many program tabs (including one titled "RENAMING". When I start the program and even after I follow all the "quick start" instructions - I still only have 3 Tabs: "My Shows", "Scan" and "When to Watch". I just found another HELP post that noted tabs have been consolidated and so the RENAMING (should) take place in the SCAN tab...but after following the instructions - all I get is a very long list of "Missing" seasons/files for the shows I have in my folder structure.

My files are iTunes format (H.264 .m4v extension) - does that make a difference? I did find my way into some preference screen where the video file extensions were listed...noticed m4v was not there so added it...that didn't make any difference. I was able to "add" folders for the missing seasons to my folder structure and add the folder.jpg and tvshow.nfo files for all shows - but the list in the SCAN tab did not contain any files to rename?

What am I missing?

Thanks

Click Options > Preferences. Then click the "Files and Folders" tab. Under "Video extensions" add the m4v extension.
TV Rename doesn't care what format the files are. You can add anything under Video Extensions and TV Rename will treat files with that extension as if they are video files.
And just in case the post comes up for someone doing a search, anything listed under "Other Extensions" will be treated as a "companion file" and if a Video File with the same base name is renamed, the companion file(s) (if any) will be renamed as well.
