Nothing comes up after I hit "Scan"

I have gone through all the necessary prep work - I set a folder to monitor (ex. G:\tv shows\lost), I hit check, I hit Auto ID all, I hit Add & Close. Then I hit the "Scan" tab and when I hit "Scan" within that page it shows the "Scan progress" box for a split second then disappears without showing any results. It will work for some TV Shows or specifically a few episodes in some TV shows but most of the time it finds nothing in any TV show folder. Any suggestions?

Quick question.

When you hit Auto ID All do the names of your TV shows appear in the Show column and does the TVDB Code appear in the thetvdb code column?

The scan will not work if there are multiple possibilities for the show ie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
There is:
Title (year) - thetvdb code
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003) - 71032
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) - 74582

Yeah all of the TV shows appear in the Show column and the TVDB Code appeasr in the thetvdb code column. There are not multiple numbers for the same show.

Pick a show from your shows tab. Right click on it and the pop up menu should include the "Base Folder" for that show as the last entry on that menu. If it is not there click the "Edit" button at the bottom left of the program. This shows the setup for that show. Do you have a folder in the location box here?

It sounds like there are no folders to scan so it is finishing really quickly.

There is a location as the last entry when I right click the show name and it is the correct location. If I open that location the episodes are located in that exact location. If I click edit at the bottom left that same location is listed under base folder. Again, everything I have done is correct and it works for a few tv shows but not most of them. Folders are correct, paths are correct, etc. etc.

I have been trying to figure out the logic and mechanics of file naming and directories for this great program for a while, and still don't have it figured out. But I have picked up a few tricks from trial-and-error.

One is that I've had the same problem it seems you have. A Show Name has been added to My Shows, which has been edited to have a Base Directory and accepted theTVdb code. The file name and the standard theTVdb name are the same so i don't have to play with the Custom File Name reset box. But it didn't recognize the show's files during a scan.

What I tried, and seemed to work some time, is a kind of reset. Delete the show, exit the program, restart the program, and re-add the show, filling in the correct settings. I've had several shows begin to recognize their files that way.

Good Luck!
