I clicked the setting in options to set all the names to lower case as i got tired of trying to get the case the same everwhere. After a few minutes it renamed things and I checked what it did.

most files were changed to lower case except those that were not on the tv guide web site yet as it is inaccurate and late in being updated. For example Ufo hunters season 2 on tvdb is bad.

I ran another rename check a few minutes later and it showed a few screens more that needed changed. I am not sure why these were delayed in renaming from the first unless a drive did not spin up fast or something.

TVRename will only work with / rename files that it matches against ones in thetvdb. If they're not on thetvdb then TVRename won't rename them for you. Newly added shows and episodes can take a while to show up in TVRename, as the data provided to external applications seems to be delayed a bit.

If the info on thetvdb is inaccurate or missing, it's easy to register on their site and update them yourself.

A drive being slow to spin up shouldn't cause TVRename to skip anything on it. The only thing that it might skip is when a network drive is in a "Disconnected" state after reboot, as Windows isn't reconnecting it on demand - only when you visit it in Explorer. (I'm trying to figure out a way around this one).
