filename differs from tvshow name

I have a little problem with a few shows like csi-lasvegas.

When you download a file the filename is csi.sxxexx... but the show name is csi crime scene investigation so the renaming tab doesnt see my newly added episodes. I first have to rename them...
What i would like is a way of adding pattern to look for for each tvshow.
Do you think its doable? or maybe it is already doable and i just didnt see it...

The "Alternative Titles" match has been requested before and is in the list of things to work on I believe.

You can customise the local name of the show in the show configuration. Go to the "My Shows" tab and click the entry for CSI in the left pane. Click the Edit button at the bottom of the screen and you can edit the settings for that show. Towards the top of that screen there is a "Custom Show Name" option. Tick it and enter CSI, then all your files will be recognised. They will be named as CSI SxxExx - Episode name (or whatever variation on naming structure you have chosen).

Alternatively, if you want your files to be called "CSI Crime Scene Investigation SxxExx...." you can manually copy the file to the appropriate folder and do a rename from the rename tab. This function assumes if the file is in that folder it is of that series, so the show name doesn't matter so much.

Or, as you said, you can rename the file so that the rename picks it up.

I dont use the show name in the file name but in the folder so i would just have to rename the folder... thanks for the tip!

Yep, specifying alternate names is on the to-do list, and looks like it would be used by a lot of people! Keep an eye on this thread, too.
