** this appears to be fixed now with the 2.2ob10

I just noticed on the rss screen the show ER is returning lots of other shows in the search for its missing episodes.

Also rename
is trying to rename show
dirt game to dirt

Its possibly finding any show with the letters "er" in it's name.

For Dirt Game going to Dirt, can you check in My Shows (and the epsiode guide) that you have the right show selected (code 90681).

I noticed that 2.2.0a1 still seems to have problem with ER.

It keeps finding shows that have er in them and trying to rename them.

I finally renamed ER to ER## with the custom name thing I hope this keeps it from looking for ER and it looks for ER## instead. So it stops trying to rename everything.

ok Renaming it to er## did not work. it is still trying to rename other shows. i even have er set to not rename. Any ideas other than setting all the shows not to rename.

Hang on.. Do you have a problem with ER and (1) RSS downloads (2) renaming (3) both?

Did you get "Dirt Show" sorted out?

I have a show called ER in a directory named \Er\
I have that show set to "not rename"

when i check for rename or new shows if any have the letters er in them such as battery it will try to rename them to er.

2.20a1

I have a show called ER in a directory named \Er\
I have that show set to "not rename"

when I "SCAN" for rename or new shows if any have the letters er in them such as battery it will try to rename them to er.

You might test it by making a dir \er adding a \Season 1\ and a dummy "er s01e01.avi" just rename some text file to it.

Ok.. I've set up:

* A new show in "my shows" for ER (thetvdb code #70761)
* An existing file in my "media library" that needs to be renamed:
c:\temp\tvrenametest\ER\Season 1\ER - S01E02 - Testing.avi
* A file in my "download folder" that needs to be moved to my media library:
c:\downloads\bt\ER - S01E01 - One.avi
* A file that shouldn't be picked up, but has "ER" in it's name:
c:\downloads\bt\NotERAtAll - S01E03 - Three.avi
* I have shows named "Better off Ted" and "How I met your Mother", i.e. have "ER" in their name, and are all set to rename, etc.

I do a scan, and I get what I expect (I've trimmed out episodes 6 and on from the missing section):

..the only (expected) problem being the RSS stuff. It isn't messing with anything other than the real "ER" episodes, and it isn't wanting to use the "NotERAtAll" file to fill in the missing episode #3.

If I turn off renaming for ER, it is the same but without the one renaming line.

Can you see anything I might be doing different to you? Can you show me a screenshot of your "Scan" results?

My dir was \Er\Season 1\ I think at the time i made it tvdb had the show that way I have changed it to uppercase ER now

since the 2.20a2 i have not seen it happen yet. It may have been the "Er --> ER" i changed it same time i changed versions.

I just noticed on the rss screen the show ER is returning lots of other shows in the search for its missing episodes.

Give the latest alpha (2.2.0a4) a go. I've made the RSS show name matching the same as what it uses for filenames on disk, so should have a lot less false matches.

So far 2.2.0a4 seems to handle that lots better.

I is harder to see what it is doing as that report you make now is so big and hard to look at all at once. it is about 20 screens long with all the missing files and such. I alwaya have to scroll down and hunt all over to try to find the files it is renaming or going to move and such. not enough white space for the eyes to rest while looking at it.
It may be better to have more buttons or have them on tabs that expand to see the sections of the report...

Good to hear that it is improved.

I've got some ideas in mind for improving the handling of lots of items in the list, both in terms of speed and layout. The first thing will be letting the user define the order things are showed in, so you can at least get the things you want right at the top of the list.

From the latest alpha, you can select items and right click, then choose "Ignore". For missing items you're never going to never get, this is useful to make it stop asking you about them ever again.

oh i have not used the rss or torrent parts of the program. I never could figure it out to where it was useful to me. I use the when to watch and have filters set up for some search engine and that works best for me.

problem with er in past was the er being in other show names and it would rename them to er

I have hundreds of files scattered all over that have been renamed wrong. only way i find some is doing duplicate file checking against a backup drive or redown the files and dup check against them. but this only works if they are from same source.

If there was a checksum stored with all the files and way to trade them online with others then it would be easy to sort out this. by using the checksums to try to identify wrong named files but it would take a program like a duplicate checker that could compare against the checksum data. I do not know of one yet.
