Taking forever to scan shows - new release

took my existing config files, about 20,000 episodes, and pressed scan. After an hour still had dialogue box displayed saying downloading, although nothing happening. Any thoughts?

I'm also having the same (or a similar problem). Seems like the program can't download data from thetvdb.com very well. It does enough to get the names of a series, the main banner and the overview information. But doesn't seem to want to get any more. If I try and manually refresh or do a background download, nothing seems to happen (i.e. the "downloading" box will appear, but do nothing).

Hmm.. I think I know what it might be. Try turning off automatic background downloads (options menu), quit TVRename (saving settings as you quit), restart TVRename and give the "Scan" another go.

It took a little over a hour to finish on mine with a little over 22k episodes across 7 drives on 2 processors About 2 minutes are waiting on drives to spin up as they each are kept spun down individually. It did not seem to lot my machine up as bad as the version before either but still puts a load on it.

First pass.
I had done a duplicate check and had most of the files put away already. The drives have minimal fragmentation also.
It did find several files that were not named correctly and moved several files(seems to handle full drives better than the version before).

Second pass
I turned on the RSS search and missing files and turned off the other options. I edited the rss search and removed the torrent stuff and put in
http://www.tvnzb.com/tvnzb_new.rss
I hope someday he will make it so it will get the nzbz we mark and put them to a folder.

I don't get that utorrent thing it is so slow. It is only useful some linux cd torrents.

Although now after 2 days is back to taking forever again.

caspercat: grab the 2.2.0a2 (or any later) version: here. It should fix the problem where it gets stuck while downloading (and you should be able to turn background downloads back on again).

Will keep it monitored and let you know, but this is fantastic speed, and have everything turned on and lots in my uTorrent queue
