"Folder Monitor" doesn't find any folder 2.2.0b4

The new "Folder Monitor" doesn't find any folder on my PC. All old versions did find folders.

Some basic things to check (if you haven't already).

Is there a folder to monitor listed on the "Folders" tab? Try clicking on the folder so it's highlighted, then click the open button. Does it open to the correct folder?

Are there any folders not already added to my shows in your monitored folders? If there aren't any folders in the monitored folders that aren't already added to My Shows, nothing will be shown in the scan results. Try adding a new folder named for some random show you don't have and see if TVRename picks it up when you do a scan.

Did you check the Ignore tab and make sure the folder(s) you're scanning aren't ignored?

And I have to mention it, but did you hit the Check>>> Button on the bottom Right?

Yes it did.

Done that, nothing changed.

Removed everything -> still nothing

And I have to mention it, but did you hit the Check>>> Button on the bottom Right?

Of course i did.

Until b3 it worked. Even installed old version b3 again and it found everything. So something is wrong with the new Dialog.

I just updated from b3 and most of my folders aren't being found either. I tried everything that was mentioned in the upper post, and none worked. Went back to b3 and it found them all.

I just found tvremane a few weeks ago, and this has been a huge time saver. thanks. .

Thanks for humoring me Prinz, it helped me track down a way to reproduce it. ;)

It appears that if there's Season folders already in the folder, the folder monitor won't pick up the show folder.

For example, I have d:/shares/television monitored. I created an empty folder d:/shares/television/bones and the folder monitor found it without a problem. I then added a "Season 1" folder to the Bones folder and ran the scan again, and the folder monitor didn't pick up anything. Deleted the season 1 folder and folder monitor again picked up the Bones folder.

Thanks for the detailed troubleshooting DedTV & Prinz. It has been fixed in the 2.2.0b5 release (which I'll upload tonight).

Sorry but it isn't fixed. Now it detects only the root folders which are on the Folders Tab.

I have the follwoing 2 Folder there:

f:\series
g:\series

and get as a result:

f:\series Folder per season
g:\series Folder per season

instead of the Subfolders. This is wrong. :(

Correct Result would be: (example)

f:\series\bones Folder per season
f:\series\house Folder per season
g:\series\chuck Folder per season

I don't think I understand what you're seeing.

It appears to be working for me:

Do you see something different?

Edit: I did find a problem. If I have TV Rename monitor the root of a folder, it doesn't find any shows.
For example, if I have shows like X:\Bones or X:\Shows\Bones and have X:\ monitored, it doesn't find the shows. It instead finds X:\ as a Folder per season show and nothing else.
But if I have X:\Shows\Bones and have it monitor X:\Shows, then it finds everything ok.

I think I got it. Are your folders laid out like this:
f:\series\Bones Season 1
f:\series\Bones Season 2
:?:

That way is indeed not working. I get the same result you do.

Mine are laid out like f:\series\Bones\Bones Season 1, which does work.

My Folder are like this:

f:\Series\Bones\Season 05
f:\Series\House\Season 06

Some without the Season Subfolder like this:

F:\Series\Doctor Who

These are only "temporary" Folders for the current Season. From these Folders the Episodes are being moved externally after watching them or in some cases being deleted after watching.

I'm just chiming in to say that I'm having the same problem, only I can't even get it to work with the share name ( \\computer\share ).
I've got my folder structure like \\computer\tv shows\show name\show name - season xx
When I click "check" I just get the same results as someone posted before - it shows the structure as being a folder per season, but no show name at all. When I click Auto ID, it just shows the little progress dialog for a second and then disappears with no change in the contents of the window.

This is really a show-stopping bug for me. Any idea when the next release might be (hopefully containing a fix for this specific bug) ?
