Can't Scan Shows

Every time I try to scan an individual show I get the error "object reference not set to an instance of an object". This happens every time without fail on two different XP installs. One is running natively on a laptop and the other is running in VirtualBox on an Ubuntu laptop. I'm running 2.2.0b5. It does the same thing when I try b4. The only other references I can find to this error in this forum involve saving, but this seems like a distinct issue. At this point the program has become useless to me, but I really don't want to go back to manually renaming every episode of all the shows I download.
