Thanks to a different post, here's a great way to create a search engine in TVrename to find missing shows in Newzbin. But i think it might be able to be improved even further...
To start...
http://www.newzbin.com/search/?q={ShowName}+{Season}x{Episode}&searchaction=Search&fpn=p&category=8&u_nfo_posts_only=0&u_url_posts_only=0&u_comment_posts_only=0&u_v3_retention=10368000&ps_rb_video_format=133137&ps_rb_language=4096&sort=date&order=desc&u_post_results_amt=1000
This looks for shows in the format that all TV shows are posted allowing for easy links to quickly grab missing shows.
A nice feature of TVrename is the ability to highlight multiple missing shows and then click the search engine, and it opens multiple browser tabs with each new search. The problem with using this method with Newzbin, is that after about 5 at once, you start getting HTTP errors about to many connections, and it probably ticks them off.
However, using the boolean search option "OR" (without the quotes) allows to you search for multiple different strings all within one search. Providing results all done in one query. I believe searching for missing episodes this way might make things easier on everyone.
The kicker is however, that the way TVrename works now with its tags, i don't believe this will work. If there was a new tag: EG: {ShowName#} which corresponded to each of the selected missing episodes in your list and a "OR" was added between each one, then newzbin would be performing a single search with only one query.
For Example:
(Missing show Page)
scrubs season 8 episode 1
american idol season 6 episode 5
lost season 3 episode 5
Highlight all 3 listings and press the newzbin search engine button
The new search string would be something like this (notice the bold changes)
http://www.newzbin.com/search/?q={ShowName#}+{Season#}x{Episode#} OR {ShowName#}+{Season#}x{Episode#} OR {ShowName#}+{Season#}x{Episode#}&searchaction=Search&fpn=p&category=8&u_nfo_posts_only=0&u_url_posts_only=0&u_comment_posts_only=0&u_v3_retention=10368000&ps_rb_video_format=133137&ps_rb_language=4096&sort=date&order=desc&u_post_results_amt=1000
The #sign in each tag would represent the Showname/season/episode of the 3 highlighted shows im searching for.
It would be the same way as if i typed into newzbin directly on their search page
http://www.newzbin.com/search/?fpn=p
american idol 6x05 OR lost 3x05 OR scrubs 8x01
See full length search here
http://www.newzbin.com/search/?q=americ ... ts_amt=200
Newzbin would then return ONLY those specific episodes, ALSO allowing you to press "ALL" to tag all newzbin articles, and then "Create NZB".
Ultimately this allows you to only press 3 buttons to get every missing episode from your missing episodes page.
Unfortunatly Newzbin limits the maximum text in their search field to 255 chars.
