Hi,

I use tvrename to rename all my show and i have one problem with it. It s adding new shows. I see a show i like on the net, i download an episode and puts it in the folder tvrename watch for new episodes. Now i want to add that new show, right now i must create a folder in my tvshows folder, go to folder monitor, check ...
What i would like is for the folder monitor to automatically see the new show episodes and either propose me to create the folder or in a way autamatically create it. That way i could even do it in commandline.
The only problem i see is how tvrename choose where to create the new folder for the tvshow as we can monitor multiple directories.

What do you think?

Different way to do what you want. Go to "My Shows" tab and click "Add" from the bottom of the screen. Enter your show name (match to the online name) and the folder location (folder does not have to exist ... read on).
You have to have an entry in the missing tab in order for finding & organising to know that it is missing, so go ahead and do a missing check. You will be prompted to create the directory you entered before (cool).

I don't think you are ever going to be able to do all of this through a command line, even if the actions change significantly.

I do think an option to list "found but not matched files" in the finding and organising tab would be cool though, and then try to match them to an online show.

At the moment, ScoopD's method is the way to do it. Depending on the demand, and how useful (and often used) the feature would be, I could look at notifying the user about unmatched files in the download folder and ask what to do with them (e.g. copy to existing show, make new show). In my case, it'd be very annoying as I have a lot of other stuff arriving in my download folder. :)

are they dups or duds

New shows are not so much of a problem for me as I have most shows and only adding new ones look up first anyway. There real problem with the incoming folder is not new shows but all the hundreds of shows tv rename leaves sitting there and does not try to rename or move for some reason.

If the shows are duplicate names then might the creation of another folder for dups and moving them there would be useful.

The monitor folder I use now has about 300gigs I need to figure out what to do with. I have changed the filters every which way to try to catch them. I manually edited the names to make them all fit the pattern needed also.
