missing episodes filter

Recently i found out about a feature that i would really like to see.
I dont download the whole shows, i just keep usually the last season i am watching.
The problem when you watch a lot of shows is that the missing tab becomes really heavy and difficult to go through.
Would it be possible to have an option to only see missing episodes since the first episode you have of the show.

For example, let say i have only 6,7, 8 seasons of CSI and that i start the season 6 with the episode 12
Then a very useful feature would be to only see missing episodes for csi from s06e12.
That way you can really use it to keep track of the episodes you missed

I must assume that most people, due to disk space limitations, only keep last season or last episodes of a show.

What do you think?

You can choose to ignore entire seasons and individual episodes. It is manual, but pretty easy to do.

For "Ignore Season" go to the My Shows tab and highlight a show in the left pane. click the edit button at the bottom of the page to bring up the show settings. About half way down the dialog there is an Ignore seasons box, just above the folders section. Simply enter all the seasons you want to ignore with a space between each one.

For "Ignore Episode", again in the my shows tab, open the show and highlight the season in the left pane. Click the Edit button at the bottom of the page and you can see the season episodes. This is where you can do a lot of actions, such as merge multiple episodes into a single entry. You can also choose to ignore, which you can do for a single episode or a series of episodes.

Yeah you are right but that s heavy to maintain. I think an option as i mentioned would make life a lot easier

I completely agree it would be great to have it automatically start checking for missing episode from the first episode you have instead of season 1

I don't really understand why? You set it once.
Sure it may take a while to go through all your shows when you set it up, but you never have to revisit it again. It also gives you the visibility on what you are actually ignoring. If you are retiring a season you add it to the list at that time.

Perhaps a scan option during the setup can prompt that you don't have any episodes from a particular season and ask if you want to ignore it? That would mean you would have to go through the scan/setup again which was particularly painful with a large library. You are also adding additional steps to that process.

I fully understand what you are saying - your missing list is hugh and it is hard to see the missing from the "don't care." There have been requests to add a right click option to the listing in missing. Maybe you can add your voice to that - add an ignore episode or ignore season option to that list?

No you dont set it once.
Let s say i am watching Fifth gears last season without having seen the others. I must ignore the first 12 seasons.
Then i like it a lot and decide to look at more. But because i dont have so much space i dowload one season, watchit, delete it....
Everytime i have to update the ignored seasons ...
So heavy.

The option i was talking about allow the missing tab to be "in sync" with wat is on your hard drive.

I used to have a feature in TVRename that did that. It wouldn't be too hard to bring it back, so that completely missing seasons were ignored, and if you had a season starting at (say) episode 5, then the first 4 episodes wouldn't be shown as missing either - only ones after episode 5.
