Subtitles

By defining your preferred language, it would be a nice feature to be able to download subtitles, if avaliable.

This task can partially be automated, through open subtitles.
But user contributions about matching shows and subs could also extend the functionality.

Thanks for a great app.

Interesting idea. What do you normally search for to get the subtitles for a given episode of a show? I'm putting in things like "Heroes S03E04" or "Heroes 3x04" and getting nothing. Seems that I have to search by the actual episode title?

opensubtitles.com has an api which matches the file and subtitles by crc

Usually i use subscene.com, or opensubtitles.com and manually find subtitles.

But as stated earlier opensubtitles have an open api, so it should be possible to find a perfect match based on some hashing.

opensubtitles have a program called "Subdownloader" that can be used.

If it can be found by a CRC/hash, then it mightn't be too hard to do. May also not be too hard to extend TVRename so that you specify the types of files that need to be present, e.g. "one of AVI,MPG, or MP4, _and_ one of SUB, SRT". I'll put it on my list of things to think about!
