This will mean goodbye to the Renaming, Missing Check, Finding and Organising and RSS tabs. There will inevitably be changes to how this tab looks and works, but here's a screenshot of what I've got so far:

(click for bigger/more/better!)

The one "Check" button does a rename check, missing check, finding and organise, followed by a RSS search. You then hit the "Action" button at the bottom and it does all the things shown. The functionality of 4 tabs and 8 separate check+go buttons, rolled into one tab and two buttons!

It will also show things like show/season/episode thumbnails that need to be downloaded.

There'll be new preferences for setting up the things which are currently defined on those tabs that are going to be removed, i.e. RSS URLs, location of uTorrent, and search folders.

I'll make it so that you can right-click on a selection to ignore it forever (e.g. specific episodes you don't want renamed). Right-click will also (eventually) let you manually select files to fix missing episodes, and choose among multiple choices for RSS downloads.

You'll be able to have a play with this when I upload the next alpha version, "soon". :P

Sweeeeet! :-)

/me like

Don't forget to make it like the other tabs; double-click to run the selected tasks. And to be able to delete single-episodes from the action list (like renames etc).

If I know you right, you've propably allready did this :-)

Yep.. Done, or planned to be done. It'll have all the existing functionality of the tabs being replaced, as well as implementing a few new features that people have been asking for.

New screenshot, though it looks quite similar to the last one in spite of about 15 hours of work behind the scenes, making things much better organised. The worst is over, I think.. :)

"Folder Monitor" and "Torrent Match" are now on the Options menu. Renaming, Missing, Finding and Organising, and RSS are all part of the new "All In One" tab. Moved a few more settings into the preferences dialog, and changed the "grid" control on the "Search Engines" and "Filename Processors" dialog, to something that's less quirky.

If I stay this motivated, should have an alpha up within a week or two.

Hi,

Just a few suggestions - i know that isn't a complete finished version yet, but just thought i'd offer a few suggestions while you're working on it.

1 - Move the "GO" button to the right of all the check boxes.

The normal way of doing this is going left to right, so you tick your options and then run the command. In this layout the run is before you select your options. So instead of going left-right. You go left to right then back to the start to click.

2 - Separate the action checkboxes from the option checkboxes.

Rename check, missing check, etc are actions. Things for the someone to do. The rest are options that affect the actions. So maybe have some sort of separating bar on the screen to show the difference between them.

3 - Selectable show/action checkboxes.

When i first downloaded the program it took me *ages* to work out you could delete rows from each of the screens. I accidentally bumped into a forum topic about it which is where i learned to use that feature.

What i suggest is having a checkbox before every row to allow the user to select which actions to run.

eg.
[x] Boston Legal - 5 - 12-13 - 9/12/2008
[_] Burn Notice - 5 - 12-13 - 9/12/2008
[_] Burn Notice - 5 - 12-13 - 9/12/2008

Have all these selected by default. That will give the user a visible choice of what actions to run and have them realise they don't need to run it on everything everytime they run it.

Also as a shortcut add the checkbox to each category (Missing, Rename, Move). This will allow you to bulk select/unselect each group, just for ease of use.

Thanks for the feedback... Already had 1 and 2 planned, also making the hierarchy more obvious. e.g. you only set the "search in XYZ" options if the "check for missing" option is on.

3 is also a good idea. I'll put in checkboxes, along with select all/none/groups. I was also going to make it so you could select a number of rows, right click, and choose "Action" for just those selected. I agree that the "delete" keypress is non-obvious, too :). I'll also put in a 'delete selected' or 'delete checked' button down the bottom.

Any chance of getting manually episode assignment (+rename accordingly) and "unmatched files" (e.g. .avi files in search path/episode folders) in this release? You know, just in case you're getting bored.

What would be exceptionally cool would be this: upon finding an unmatched file (i.e. one that doesn't match any of the missing episodes using the standard regexp scans), the program tries to do a fuzzy logic match on the file name and comes up with best matches out of your missing episodes. You can then select the correct one, and the file gets moved/renamed/copied as appropriate.

Thanks for the heads up! Steve, you owe me some keyboards I've smashed into pieces!

Suggestion for next release;

Yep. Right click, then "Browse for match" on any missing file is being done. A fuzzy match is an interesting idea. An initial step could be to show alternatives if there are multiple matches.

Suggestion for next release;
I could make it blink too :)

More teasing: A pretty "Actors Grid" showing actors who have been in more than one show you watch. Click on the green blob to search for them on IMDB. Save button exports to a PNG.

This may (or may not) be of use to you.

Just some Wikipedia examples I coded up when i had a bash at building my own TV show reamer (nowhere near as elegant and now abandoned)

I love the program!
has saved me hours of work already :D

Nice.. I'll keep it in mind for if/when I do any fuzzy matching!

Another picture. Six files are missing, but only two of those don't have a "solution". Two files need to be renamed, and two files need to be moved from the download folder to the media library (i.e. the old find&organise). One of the missing files was found on a torrent RSS feed, and one was already queued for download in uTorrent. One NFO (episode information in XML format for XBMC) file needs to be written/updated, and two series folder thumbnails are to be downloaded. Episode thumbnails are also downloaded if needed (not shown here).

Right click on a line, and it'll bring up appropriate actions. For missing items, you can manually browse for the matching file.
