Trouble with multiple folders per season

I have my shows all set up as:

series\season #\filename

Quite a few of these seasons are spread among a few hard drives. so, drive x, y & z all have, for example:

dollhouse/season 2/file

When I run a scan, it tries to copy the new files to drive x, and move to drive y or z. It doesn't seem to want to move or copy any of the files that were already in the proper folders. My question is whether or not there's a way to specify just one of these folders to move the new files to.

Thank you! Great program!

Sorry I don't really understand your question, but I will have a crack at trying to answer it.

In the My Shows tab you have your shows set up. Part of the setup is to specify the folder that the files for that show will be in. Any files that are already in that folder will not be moved but may be renamed.

From the Options Menu, choose Preferences and then the Search Folders tab. These are the folders (and all sub-folders under these) that contain the files you want to move. Keep in mind that if you already have a media file for an episode in your "proper" folder, the program will not move any additional media file for that episode to that folder. The logic is that the app checks your proper folder to see what episodes you are missing and then searches to see if it can find those episodes.

Does that answer your question?

No. The issue that I'm having is, for example:

in the my shows tab, I have:
X:\dollhouse\season 2\files
y:\dollhouse\season 2\files
z:\dollhouse\season 2\files

I also, put my base folder as:
x:\dollhouse\

I have my search folder entered. Drive y & z are full, drive x is where I want the new files to go. When I run a scan, it tries to copy the new episodes from my search folder, to x:\dollhouse\season 2\. The problem is that it also tries to move the same files, from my search folder, to (randomly it appears) either drive y or z (with the correct path.) Now, what I want to do, is have the folders in drive y & z listed, so it will recognize the files in there, but choose the path that the files from the search folder go to. I ONLY want them to be moved to drive x, not y or z since they are full. Is this possible, or do I have to consolidate these folders?

Sorry if I'm not making this very clear.

Thank you for the help!

Still not exactly getting it, but I think the problem is that you have too much entered in your search folder location.

Go to the Options Menu - click Preferences and go to the Search Folders tab.

The only things listed in here should be the location you want to move files from e.g. "C:\Temp\My Recent Dowloads"

*** Do not put your X, Y or Z drive in that list ****

Any folder that is listed will check all sub folders as well. The Search Folders list is to find files to move/copy. If you have those locations already listed in your my shows setup, do not list them again. I think that should fix your issue of moving between those drives.

I do only have the one "downloads" folder in my searches. The season folders are in the my shows tab. Still, the problem is that I have multiple folders for each season and the program just doesn't know where to send the new files to.

I agree, I don't want the program to try and move anything existing, and it doesn't the way I have it set up anyway. I just think you should be able to make it so drive a and b have can season 1 files, but drive c is where the new season 1 should be copied to from your search folder. Just like maybe have a check box next to the folders to make them "active" or not. in other words "COPY NEW FILES HERE" or not. I just have multiple folders containing different episodes from one season. I would like it to "see" them so I don't keep seeing it as a missing episode, but I don't want it to copy the new files to the drives that are full.

I seem to confuse myself more and more every time I try to explain this... I hope everyone else feels the same about it! :)

Thanks for listening anyway
